Let’s face it: the Ruthless Aggression era is chockful of blood-ridden matches. Heck, in 2004, you have HBK vs. Triple H at the Royal Rumble, where both men pass out in pools of their own blood, and Eddie Guerrero vs. JBL at Judgement Day 2004, where Eddie cut himself so deep, he went into shock and needed an emergency transfusion.

The main event of WrestleMania XX obviously doesn’t spill the liters like those two did, but it’s easily the most emotionally involving of the three. Seeing Shawn, Hunter, and Benoit practically kill themselves for the title is something to behold. Shawn especially - his hair and face were drenching with his own bodily fluid.

But the crown jewel belongs to Triple H, who in the final moments, with a face drenched in blood, in front of a rabid MSG crowd, tapped to Benoit’s crossface. While WWE have understandably scrubbed this moment from history, any wrestling fan will tell you that it’s an iconic image.
