10 Times WWE Broke Your Heart And Didn’t Even Care

7. Feeling Blue

The absolute f*cking state of Asuka.

There were those usual voices that insisted everybody let a longer story play out for the 'Empress Of Tomorrow', but such a thing simply doesn't exist in 2018. Her undefeated streak and the incredible aura that came with it were bantered off at WrestleMania with little thought for how she'd fare the following month, let alone year.

Professional wrestling's fickleness only reveal itself when the magical mask marked 'Over' finally slips. It was once something Asuka held between her pursed lips, but she'd now most likely get rolled up if she tried to pick it back up off the cold hard canvas.

A tag team defeat on SmackDown Live! shortly after the Charlotte setback wasn't a deal-breaker - her partner took the pin and she needed to continue to appear vulnerable - but the pinfall she ate following a Carmella superkick at Money In The Bank undid literal years of work establishing just how hard she is to beat. Because she's not, not anymore. Regardless of the narrative neglect, this is Asuka, this week. Until it's not. Welcome to 2018 WWE, you're probably going to hate it.
