Roman Reigns wasn't the only superstar to back out of WrestleMania 36 due to health concerns, as The Miz had to do the same when he contracted an undisclosed illness before the event. WWE had booked a triple-threat tag team ladder match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, with The Miz and John Morrison defending the titles against The Usos and The New Day.

However, Mike Johnson of the PWInsider reported that WWE had sent The Miz home from the WrestleMania tapings due to health concerns. The Miz's absence forced WWE to improvise, and the company booked a triple-threat ladder match between one member from each team for the title. John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, and Jimmy Uso represented their respective teams, and the contest ended with Morrison picking up the win and retaining the titles for his team.

Despite the pandemic, Vince McMahon stuck to his mantra "The Show Must Go On," and WWE and the superstars did a commendable job in salvaging whatever they could to go ahead and turn WrestleMania 36 into a new experience for the wrestling fans.
