10 Times WWE Creative Ruined A Wrestler's Gimmick

8. Hakushi

When this guy debuted during the New Generation Era, he was a breath of fresh air. 'The White Angel' had an incredible presence; those rolled on Japanese characters were badass, his martial arts kicks looked fantastic, he had a long, undefeated streak that gave him legitimacy

But after his first major feud against Bret Hart, Hakushi turned face, and he started doing backstage skits with perennial jobber Barry Horowitz. Hakushi's character was now a wide-eyed, immigrant pupil, and Horowitz was teaching him about American culture.

Around the same time, Hakushi started losing a lot, to both midcarders and jobbers; everything that had once made him mysterious and scary had been thrown in the garbage. He left the company a short time afterwards, without having won a single WWE title.
