WWE was in a funny old situation coming into WrestleMania 32. Triple H, by that time a major authority figure splitting his time between being a d*ck on the main roster and being the mind behind the critically acclaimed NXT brand, was your reigning WWE Champion.

Also, Roman Reigns was once again being forced into the main event spot. For a brief moment, however, it looked as though all our familiar fears were set to be avoided.

In the lead-up to Trips' title defence detour against Dean Ambrose at Roadblock, the then-massively over Bray Wyatt and his cronies beat down 'The Lunatic Fringe' on Raw. This then opened the door for the current Champion to enter the ring, staring down 'The Eater of Worlds' as the crowd erupted with anticipation.

Could WWE finally be listening? Was the trigger actually going to be pulled on the compelling character as a bonafide 'Mania level main eventer?

LOL, no. The Wyatt Family ultimately legged it, got embarrassed by The Rock and John Cena at 'Mania, and WWE inevitably let 'The Big Dog' out of his kennel.
