10 Times WWE Did Exactly What The Wrestlers DIDN'T Want

2. Dean Ambrose’s Return In 2018

Dean Ambrose, currently known of course as AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, was not a happy man during his final run in the WWE. Everything from losing matches to the stupid character motivations to the absolutely abhorrent things he was forced to say on the mic, made it very difficult to get by for the man.

This had nothing to do with Ambrose himself though. He was trying his best to make the most of a badly botched angle. In fact if he had his way, this whole thing may never have happened in the first place.

Because when Ambrose was about to make his return earlier in the year, he wanted to do so as a heel. If only WWE had greenlit the man’s wishes, we could have seen the best of Ambrose inside a WWE ring.

Instead we got a by-the-numbers face return and the inevitable Shield reunion; before Roman Reigns’ awful real life tragedy eventually forced that heel turn. This could have been so much better if only creative had given the man what he wanted.

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
