It must have taken Rey considerably longer to apply his Joker makeup and costume than it did for him to beat JBL at WrestleMania XXV. Their match, for the once-prestigious Intercontinental Championship, lasted a paltry twenty five seconds. JBL attacked Rey before the match only to be quickly pinned following a 619 and top rope splash. JBL 'quit' after the loss. In reality, he had to retire due to another devastating back injury. That's why the match was as short as it was: JBL knew he couldn't work a ten or fifteen minute match and originally wanted to lose to Mysterio in three seconds. JBL had hand-picked Rey as the one to retire him since Rey had first retired JBL in 2006. But if Bradshaw knew months in advance that his back was hurting him, why did he draw it out until WrestleMania? Mysterio could have had a great match with any number of people on the show. Perhaps he could have begun his dispute with Chris Jericho a couple of months ahead of schedule. Rey certainly deserved more than a twenty five second match at WrestleMania XXV, as memorable as the match/angle was.
