Upon Jack Swagger's return from injury in mid-2013, he wasn't put back into the World Heavyweight Championship picture as expected but instead was paired with Cesaro. Led by Zeb Colter, The Real Americans immediately became a force to be reckoned with in the tag team division, spreading their message of patriotic unity and scoring victories over The Usos and the Rhodes brothers. Although they never once won the WWE Tag Team Championship and were wasted in a rivalry with Los Matadores, they still managed to endear to the audience with their amazing chemistry in the ring. Cesaro stole the spotlight more often not, but Swagger complimented him well as a partner. By WrestleMania season, they were as hot as they had ever been, which prompted WWE to split them up following The Show of Shows. They wanted to capitalize off the wave of momentum Cesaro was riding as soon as possible, but in doing so, they broke The Real Americans up before they could fulfill their full potential as a tandem.
