10 Times WWE Failed Roman Reigns

1. Casting Him As Superior During The Shield's Reunion

WWE didn't need The Shield's reunion in the summer of 2017, but it was a nice idea that might have worked had Reigns not been depicted as vastly superior to his stablemates.

Think about how WWE booked their reconciliation: Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose eventually saw eye-to-eye and turned their collective attentions towards getting Roman back on board. Once asked, Reigns mulled it over and pondered whether or not he needed to bother. Wow. Talk about making one of the best factions ever look second-rate.

The first time around, The Shield were an equal trio who acted like a pack of vicious dogs to tear down their opponents. The second time, they were plainly a tag-team (Rollins and Ambrose) backing up a main event singles megastar (Reigns).

Are WWE on a mission to make Roman as obnoxious as possible? It sure seems like it.
