As the launchpad for three future Hall of Famers, The Shield were perhaps always destined to fight on the side of good. Fans, though, enjoyed them from the outset: they were fresh and exciting, representing something we hadn't seen since the days of the Attitude Era.

With a pair of much-loved indie darlings either side of the Big Dog, and some of the most badass ring attire we've ever seen (except when worn by Kurt Angle), The Shield were simply too cool to boo - Roman Reigns or not.

The crowd saw in them not only a trio of main event-tier singles stars, but also a group capable of kicking back against the rule of The Authority.

And, sure enough, that's exactly how they became good guys, turning on Director of Operations Kane after appearing to come to the ring to beat up Jerry Lawler. Finally, we could give them a rapturous pop without having to feel guilty about it - and it felt great.
