10 Times WWE Fans Forced A Face Turn
7. Kurt Angle
Kurt Angle's eventual face turn was helped by the fact that he never really fully committed to being a heel in the first place. Instead of trying to maim his opponents or make the fans cry, he was simply an ambitious rookie prepared to do whatever it took to make real his wrestling dreams.
That, along with his penchant for sheer goofiness, endeared him to the audience, and even when he joined up with The Alliance in 2001 to try and bring down the entire World Wrestling Federation, you couldn't really dislike the guy.
Officially speaking, Angle became a proper face for the first time in 2003 - ironically, after acquiring a more intense, ruthless streak once he got his hair shaven off by Edge the previous year.
It had to happen, though, because the already-loved Olympic gold medalist was now a true wrestling hero, having put in one of the all time great WrestleMania performances next to Brock Lesnar, despite his banged-up neck.
