10 Times WWE Gave The Internet Wrestling Community What They Wanted
5. CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan At Over the Limit 2012
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4fGSt6lOCs During CM Punk's 434-day reign as the WWE Champion, he was producing in the ring like no one else. His match quality and promo work gave a whole new meaning to that "Best In The World" moniker. That wasn't just a nice t-shirt. It was the truth. But no matter how many times Punk worked a 5-star match with Chris Jericho, and did numerous times, there was still one dream match for the title that Punk hadn't competed in yet. The match that the IWC was really drooling for was CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan. And at Over The Limit 2012, they got their wish. Way back when Punk and Bryan were kings on the indie scene, they worked for a little promotion called Ring of Honor. It was where the two of them really made names for themselves, and where they got the reputation they entered the WWE with. At ROH's Reborn: Stage 1, Punk and Bryan worked an incredible match that was arguably the push the two of them needed to start getting noticed by the big boys. At Over the Limit 2012, it was Punk vs Bryan again. Only this time, it was for the WWE Championship. Here they were, two kids from Ring of Honor, wrestling on a WWE PPV for their most coveted prize. It was a rare, extremely special time for both of them, and for the IWC.
