10 Times WWE Got The Money In The Bank Winner Wrong

7. Otis (2020)

Otis won Money in the Bank accidentally, which sums up his entire 2020, because AJ Styles was too much of an oaf to hang onto the briefcase for longer than the United States Championship circa-2017, but irrespective of your supportive feelings towards WWE's best bumbling mid-card act since Damien Mizdow, Otis was not an appropriate choice to win the Money in the Bank match.

Anyone else would have been a better, more fitting choice. AJ Styles? He should've won it years ago. Baron Corbin? Sure, give him another crack. Rey Mysterio? It would've salvaged the p*sh that followed with Seth Rollins. Aleister Black? Bring it on.

Daniel Bryan was your best shout, though.

There's no confirming that Bryan knew he was leaving at the end of his contract by this point, but take a glance at what, exactly, WWE had him doing around this time. He'd had a solid opener vs. Drew Gulak at Elimination Chamber, but then he slipped so far down the card that you could've mistaken him for Hillbilly Jim. By presenting him with the briefcase, WWE would've reaffirmed that Daniel Bryan was one of their top stars, not some klutz clogging up the mid-card.

Instead, he got booted by Roman Reigns in a good TV match that's since gone lost to time.

Cheers, Otis.
