10 Times WWE Got The Money In The Bank Winner Wrong

3. Nikki A.S.H (2021)

Nikki Cross was doomed from the moment she became Nikki A.S.H.

A lifeless superhero gimmick, the once-fiery Glaswegian had her entire mantra stripped from her in favour of an eighties-esque, Golden/New Generation Era-like character that she didn't have a clue how to pull off. Vince McMahon loved it enough, however, to crown her the winner during WWE's first pay-per-view match back in front of a full-time live audience. The trust was in her from the beginning...for about a day.

Nikki cashed in on Charlotte Flair the following night on Raw, becoming Raw Women's Champion, and beginning the title's worst reign this side of Nia Jax. She wasn't the champion, truthfully; she carried the belt, polishing it for when Charlotte inevitably regained it at SummerSlam.

This Money in the Bank match should've always carried a Liv Morgan victory. Although Morgan won the match the following year, it was in mid-2021 that her popularity was beginning to skyrocket and by the end of the year, she was deservedly challenging for the red brand's Women's Championship. It was evident to anyone watching that Liv was about to blow up and still, WWE went with the wrong choice in what was a booming Money in the Bank match.
