10 Times WWE Got The Money In The Bank Winner Wrong

2. Jack Swagger And Kane (2010)

Neither Jack Swagger nor Kane enjoyed particularly luxurious stints as World Heavyweight Champion post-Money in the Bank cash-in.

Swagger looked the part of a World Champion WWE would eye up in 2010, but he was a lanky, cumbersome, atmosphere vacuum of a champion who dragged the Big Gold Belt down a few notches. Kane, meanwhile, had an enjoyable mauling of Rey Mysterio as his cash-in match, but it seemed actually carrying the World Heavyweight Championship cast a spell that made him forget them immediately. He was a dull champion who embarked on a feud vs. The Undertaker because hey, the Attitude Era can't ever die.

They were both the wrong choice anyway because Christian was staring at WWE the entire time. Having emerged out of Edge's shadow thanks to an unblemished three years in TNA as Christian Cage, he was back in WWE as this character, his promising TNA 'Instant Classic' self. He got his flowers the next year - sort of - when he became World Heavyweight Champion but Christian could've been a wondrous Mr Money in the Bank in a move that would've put him on or above the same pedestal as Edge.

For many, he remained beneath 'The Rated R Superstar' for the remainder of his WWE lifespan.
