10 Times WWE Has Dropped The Ball With Bobby Lashley Since His Return

5. Early Lack Of Direction

Bobby Lashley's WWE return was rumored as far back as January 2018, yet the company waited until after WrestleMania 34 to bring him back into the fold on television, presumably because they had plans for him in some capacity.

That quickly turned out not to be the case based off how he mainly competed in tag team matches for the first month or two that he was on Raw. His original interaction with Elias didn't lead to the two feuding (at least not right away), and instead, he started teaming with Braun Strowman week after week for no real reason other than to beat up on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Owens and Zayn were also new to the Raw roster at that point, so Lashley vs. Owens would have been a good use of both men. In a way, they were feuding, but fans weren't given any incentive to care about their matches, and thus any momentum Lashley had from his hot return was gone almost immediately.

WWE didn't "ruin" Lashley per sé at that point, but their lack of creative direction for him didn't help, either. Like everyone else, he was just another dude on the show and no longer felt special.
