Over 2014, Rusev and Lana evolved into two of the most entertaining, most hateable villains on the WWE roster. Rusev faced all comers whether it be Jack Swagger, Big Show or Sheamus and stood victorious every time, while Lana delivered harsh truths to the American crowds about their country, leaders and heroes. After blasting The Big Show and calling everyone in the audience and in America cowards, Rusev, Lana and the entire audience were taken aback by the familiar sound of The Rocks iconic music. As much criticism as he gets for his commentary, Michael Coles delivery of You gotta be kidding me! absolutely captures the surprise perfectly, and it was a moment that everyone was talking about the next day. The Rock faced off against Rusev, pandering to the Brooklyn fans and addressing Lana in the demeaning ways WWE babyfaces are expected to treat evil women. Rusev stood up for Lana and the country he is proud of, which resulted in a cheap-shot from the Hollywood superstar that sent the Super Athlete packing. As good as this was for mainstream attention, it doesnt really accomplish anything in the long run becase Rusev is a star on the rise, but against The Rock he was made to look insignificant. Only one of those two men are going to be on Monday Night Raw the next week, and isnt going to be the guy with the eyebrow.
