10 Times WWE Legends Got Squashed
6. Triple H (Vs. Ultimate Warrior - WrestleMania XII)
For someone who gets a lot of flak for burying his co-workers Triple H has a surprisingly poor WrestleMania record (9-13). Those 13 losses mean HHH holds the dubious distinction of having suffered the most defeats of any wrestler at WWE's biggest PPV, and his path to ignominy started here.
It has to be said, snobbish blue blood Hunter Hearst Helmsley was an excellent choice to feed the Ultimate Warrior on the latter's return to WWE. Helmsley was a midcard heel who had enough name recognition for Warrior's victory to mean something, but wasn't high up enough on the totem pole to be able to balk at putting the face-painted lunatic over (Just one of the many differences between Helmsley and Triple H). Even so, it's shocking to see just how little Warrior gives Hunter in this match, the high/lowlight being his no-sell of the Pedigree. It's one thing to kick out of a finisher, it's another to blatantly disrespect it.
HHH may be philosophical about the match now but as anyone who saw WWE's now-discontinued "The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" can attest that he was absolutely fuming at the time, and would be for years afterwards. No wonder Hunter felt entitled to be selfish after seeing how the veterans of his day conducted themselves...
