10 Times WWE Posters Totally Lied To You

8. WrestleMania 22 (John Cena/Booker T)

By far, the official WrestleMania 22 poster is one of the worst used to promote WWE's showcase event in history. Looking at previous posters, many of them played up the grand feel of the event, or advertised main event matches that were set to take place. For example, the 'Mania XXVIII image was all about the bumper clash between The Rock and John Cena. Cena is featured on the 'Mania 22 poster, but it's nowhere near as effective. On the show, Cena was set to face Triple H for the WWE Title. The match was hugely anticipated, and wound up being the closing match on the Pay-Per-View. In stark contrast, Booker T and Sharmell faced The Boogeyman in a mid-card Handicap Match. Therefore, there was no purpose to the WrestleMania poster that showed Cena giving Booker a Bulldog. A much better image would have been Cena and Triple H going face-to-face, or even footage from a previous match between the pair. This remains an utterly bewildering design choice, because it doesn't hype 'Mania 22 at all.
