10 Times WWE Posters Totally Lied To You

4. Hell In A Cell 2013 (R-Truth)

Glancing at the poster for Hell In A Cell 2013, even R-Truth looks bemused as to why he's on the thing. In the latter months of 2013, Truth was far from a featured part of WWE programming. In actual fact, when Hell In A Cell took place in October, the man had just been defeated by Curtis Axel at Battleground. He wasn't really doing much on Raw or Smackdown at all. To put things into perspective, this would have been like Marc Mero suddenly being selected for a Pay-Per-View poster in 1998, ahead of someone like Steve Austin or The Undertaker. Even though R-Truth had briefly flirted with the main event scene in 2011, he was not an established top liner in the promotion. The fact he was still chosen to promote Hell In A Cell is astounding. Truth didn't even appear on the Pay-Per-View. In the main event Hell In A Cell bout, Randy Orton squared off with Daniel Bryan. Other featured matches included CM Punk facing both Paul Heyman and Ryback, and John Cena clashing with Alberto Del Rio. The ongoing angle involving Bryan vs. The Authority would have been a natural choice. Shawn Michaels was even the Special Guest Referee for Bryan vs. Orton, yet he wasn't featured on the poster.
