10 Times WWE Posters Totally Lied To You

3. Bad Blood 2003 (Goldberg & Triple H)

It seems to make sense that when the poster for Bad Blood 2003 was put together, WWE planned to promote Bill Goldberg vs. Triple H. If not, then someone messed up work on the poster designed to advertise when the event was taking place. Both Goldberg and 'The Game' are depicted, and the words 'Bad Blood' suggest there's animosity there. In many respects, this is an effective poster. The one major flaw is that the pair clearly weren't facing one another on the show. Instead, Goldberg was against Chris Jericho, and Triple H was opposite Kevin Nash inside Hell In A Cell. Another headline bout was Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair, but none of those matches were shown as happening on the poster. At this point in time - June, 2003 - Goldberg and Triple H hadn't yet had a match. The poster image would have therefore built anticipation that Bad Blood would be the first time they met. Naturally, by virtue of the fact it's on this list, it wasn't. Fans would have to wait for Goldberg vs. Triple H on Pay-Per-View, and WWE seemed to willingly pull the wool over everyone's eyes. If it's true that they initially scheduled the bout but then changed plans, it's inexcusable that the poster was changed.
