10 Times WWE Pulled The Trigger (When You Least Expected It)
3. Seth Rollins Turns On The Shield (Monday Night Raw, 2014)
Earlier in this list we spoke about Dean Ambrose's shocking decision to turn his back on one of his Shield brothers, so it only seems right to circle back around to the jaw-dropping incident that first planted the seed of doubt into his mind regarding Seth Rollins' allegiances.
In 2014, the trio were enjoying a hell of a year and had already turned babyface, earned their first WrestleMania victory and even managed to come out on top in a feud with Evolution.
So, fans were right to think that this could have been the start of an epic run as the top babyface stable in the company.
Then - as quickly as those dreams had begun to formulate - WWE suddenly allowed Triple H to fire his secret weapon in the form of a dastardly Architect.
Rollins' steel chair lashing of Ambrose and Roman Reigns knocked the crowd for six and they couldn't believe that this implosion was taking place so soon after the team's convincing dissection of The Game's seasoned faction.
It set all three down the paths that we find them on today - each standing as a significant player in the industry - and even though we knew it was bound to happen someday, it still felt like a sucker-punch.
