10 Times WWE Revived AWFUL Storylines

3. The Undertaker Vs CM Punk

The Fiend On Fire
WWE

This simply should not be on a list such as this. Two of the best personalities in WWE history, anything involving these two should have been magic. But the storylines and the some of the execution was just so bad.

Their first feud came in 2009, which saw Taker go after Punk and his World Heavyweight Championship. In what was yet another case of WWE kicking Punk to the curb despite all his star potential, this was a complete burial program for the Straight Edge champion.

He won a Submissions Match against Taker after Teddy Long of all people conducted a screwjob. Then he was utterly destroyed inside Hell in a Cell, thus ending his reign.

WWE did not learn their lesson from this and decided to make Undertaker-Punk one of the main programs heading into WrestleMania. Now yes the match they had here was absolutely incredible and deserved to end the show. But there is no getting away from the atrocious story that WWE told which saw Punk narrow all his focus on desecrating the name of the recently deceased Paul Bearer.

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
