10 Times WWE Ripped Up The Script After WrestleMania
2. The Shield Vs. Evolution
Before Cody Crybabies, there was The Yes Movement!
It was 2014, and Vince McMahon was still at the height of his power trip and was known for hogging the WWE's creative decisions. The fans' opinions meant nothing in terms of booking, and the crowd had to channel their inner Batistas in yelling out, "Give Us What We Want."
How did WWE answer their pleas? With Batista, of course!
After hearing the entire crowd rooting for Daniel Bryan and chanting "Yes" week after week, it finally dawned upon Vince McMahon that he needed to bring back Batista and have him win the 2014 Royal Rumble.
WWE's original plan was to have Batista win the Royal Rumble and main-event WrestleMania 30 with Randy Orton. But Daniel Bryan's entry into the storyline and eventual title win at the event led to another session of rewriting scripts, as they had to find something for Batista and Randy Orton to do following WrestleMania 30.
They chalked up a plan to reunite Evolution and have them start a feud with The Shield, which turned out to be quite lackluster and eventually led to Batista's exit from WWE in June 2014.
