10 Times WWE Ruined Their Own Ideas IMMEDIATELY

Idea: At Money In The Bank 2011, CM Punk beat John Cena to become new WWE Champion and then blew a cheeky kiss towards Vince McMahon as he left through the crowd. Punk, ever the rebel, was going to depart WWE with the top prize, and there was nothing Vince or anyone else could do about it.

How It Was Ruined: Except crown a new WWE Champ and act like Punk's departure was irrelevant.

One sodding week after the most newsworthy title change in recent history, WWE booked a mini-tournament to crown Rey Mysterio as WWE Champion. Then, on the exact same night, Cena beat Rey to win the belt and claim he was the real champ, not Punk. This was every bit as messy and unnecessary as it sounds.

Punk's rebellion against WWE's corporate machine was nullified like it had never happened at all, and it's hard to see why anybody thought this was a good idea. If the company could just create a new title, call it the old one and move on with the snap of some fingers, then why were fans expected to give a damn about MITB?

As Randy Orton might say, that was "Stupid".
