10 Times WWE Screwed Up With Seth Rollins
3. Going Out On A Low Note
No matter how bad WWE's portrayal of Seth Rollins got in 2015, it can't be overstated just how good he was in the ring. Every time he got the chance, he put on the kinds of amazing performances that started to turn him face, despite his amazing heel work.
It's a shame, then, that the final program of his up-and-down title reign came against none other than Kane. With Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker once again in the main event of the show, WWE decided to short-change the WWE Championship by booking Rollins in a feud with both of Kane's personas - Director of Operations "Corporate Kane" and masked "Demon Kane." The strange shtick saw neither Kane acknowledge the other, and Rollins played second banana to both personas.
At Hell in a Cell, the two had a mediocre midcard match (mediocre for Rollins, excellent for Kane) that saw Rollins defeat the Demon, thereby exiling Corporate Kane from WWE. The whole thing felt like a sideshow, and Rollins soon went down with a knee injury and had to forfeit his title.
