10 Times WWE Squandered A Genuine Crowd Reaction
5. Dean Ambrose's Return On Monday Night Raw In 2018
A return that seemed destined to finally get Dean Ambrose back in a position of real authority within WWE, disappointingly ended in a similar fashion to that of so many stars before him.
Overwhelming promise, tarnished by p*ss poor preparation.
The former world champ surprised the world when his entrance theme burst through the speakers on an episode of Raw, after Seth Rollins told us that he'd have a 'lunatic' in his corner at SummerSlam 2018. The crowd were understandably pumped to see the newly beefed up Ambrose tear his way through a stale main event scene.
Yet, what we got was a limp Shield reboot and a flaccid attempt at a heel turn, which involved more inoculation skits than decent matches.
Before long, Ambrose had ran down the remaining months of his contract and WWE were left with egg on their face, as a reborn Jon Moxley took AEW by storm.
If McMahon had just let the guy be who he is and had the balls to give him a longer leash, they could have had something magical on their hands. Sadly, the lasting memories of his final few months in the company consisted of gas masks and getting his ass whooped by Nia Jax.
