10 Times WWE Stars Made A Mockery Of Their Own Angles

10. Triple H/Vince McMahon

2002 was a 12-month cycle of desperate attempts to grab attention. WWE tried to use gay marriage, lesbian flings and even bloody necrophilia to steal headlines, but the ratings didn't exactly skyrocket. The latter, which etched the name 'Katie Vick' into fan brains forever, was the only '02 angle brought up in 2020.

Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels mentioned the mannequin mauling on the 24 April edition of SmackDown to poke fun at Triple H during his 25th anniversary celebrations. He, you'll recall, was the unfortunate soul handpicked to molest a dummy on live television whilst wearing a Kane mask.

When Vince came out on stage to pay tribute, he couldn't resist digging Trips for the Vick saga by saying, "You stooped that low?!". It's absolutely odd that a story about depressing subjects like fondling the dead was dragged back up to pop the boys 18 years later.

Good...times?
