10 Times WWE Stars Made A Mockery Of Their Own Angles

The disastrous love-swap angle involving Rusev, Lana, Summer Rae and Dolph Ziggler was a blight on 2015. Nobody thought Ru-Ru and Lana should split in the first place, but WWE's creative team believed the time was right to try and "Americanise" their 'Ravishing Russian' by putting her with super hip cool dude Dolph.

Hilariously, real-life couple Rusev and Lana took a huge dump on the entire angle by announcing their engagement via TMZ whilst the storyline was still ongoing. WWE were not happy with this, and decided to abandon both Rae's transformation into Lana-lite and the real deal's crappy Danny and Sandy-style romance with Ziggler.

Pics Rusev and Lana posted on social media broke WWE's illusion, and the cheeky scamps didn't seem to care one bit. They were too busy posing with their engagement rings on Instagram and taking loved-up selfies in bed.

That's one way to kill a story.
