10 Times WWE Stupidity Sabotaged Storylines

9. Shane McMahon Gets Control Of Raw Anyway

What Happened: Before WrestleMania 32, Shane McMahon showed back up on WWE telly to remind his father that he was a reliable big-bump machine. The end result was that Vince put his boy in a Hell In A Cell match against The Undertaker at 'Mania, with the added stip that he'd control Raw if he won.

There was some lockbox tosh in there too.

Why It Was Stupid: Not only did WWE ignore the lockbox tease following WrestleMania, they also went back on the match stakes by gifting Shane control of Raw despite losing to 'Taker. That "one night only" deal was then further made a mockery of when the boy wonder manned the flagship for another three weeks due to "popular demand".

It was flimsy, and it rendered the HIAC bout in Texas totally pointless. Between that, 'Taker's quasi-heel association with Vince (that barely lasted 10 minutes either) and the aforementioned cancellation of any trust fund talk, the angle was a deadbeat loser of a story.
