What Happened: As WWE raced towards another history-making WrestleMania supercard in 2019, they spun a final narrative for soon-to-retire Kurt Angle. He'd wrestle his last ever match in New Jersey, fans were told, and everyone looked forward to a fitting send off.

In the end, Baron Corbin was chosen as Kurt's final opponent and beat the legend in just over six minutes with ease.

Why It Was Stupid: Nobody, including Angle, thought that Corbin was fitting for the spot. One of the best wrestlers of his generation deserved a waaaaaaay better finale than this. Imagine if WWE had decided that living hero Ric Flair needed to do a job for MVP at 'Mania XXIV before hanging up the boots. That's what this crap was like.

Baron was a fine stand-in rival for Kurt on TV and other pay-per-views, but this was WrestleMania, and it was Angle's last hurrah. It's unforgivable that WWE creative thought this was a good enough use of the Olympian's final storyline as an active wrestler.
