10 Times WWE SummerSlam Main Event Was Better Than WrestleMania Main Event

It's the first and only entry on this list where both matches feature exactly the same participants! Yay!

At WrestleMania XXIV, The Undertaker extended his undefeated streak to 16-0 when he defeated Edge to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Their feud continued over the next few months and seemingly ended when Edge won a match to get 'Taker banished from WWE. However, the Phenom eventually returned to do battle with Edge one more time inside Hell in a Cell.

Their 'Mania match is a highly underrated main event, and not just because it features that classic moment where Charles Robinson runs down to the ring at 3,000 miles per hour. However, their SummerSlam match is much better and the stipulation is definitely to thank for that. The cell structure helped foster more drama and violence than the pair's WrestleMania clash and was a fitting end to a well-told rivalry.

It also comes with its own iconic visual of 'Taker chokeslamming Edge through the canvas from the top of a ladder. Then he sets the hole on fire, because he's The Undertaker and that's just what he does.

It's not quite Charles Robinson, but we'll take it.
