10 Times WWE SummerSlam Main Event Was Better Than WrestleMania Main Event

The SummerSlam 2017 main event doesn't get nearly enough love. After a show that felt like it lasted 71 hours, seeing four big dudes bash the hell out of each other for 20 minutes was a welcome change.

Basically Brock Lesnar's version of A Christmas Carol, the Beast defended his title against the ghosts of his past (Roman Reigns), his present (Samoa Joe), and his future (Braun Strowman). It was a wild affair with each man proving himself as a main event player, and it ended with Lesnar shockingly pinning Reigns to retain his Universal Championship.

Why it was so shocking that Reigns got pinned here is partly due to his match at WrestleMania earlier that year. The Big Dog closed out WrestleMania 33 in what should have been The Undertaker's WWE swansong. Unfortunately, as anyone who has seen The Last Ride documentary will tell you, this match stunk.

'Taker just couldn't go anymore. Age had finally caught up to the seemingly immortal Phenom and what followed was a botchy, lacklustre affair that was by no means befitting of Taker's final bout. Luckily for us, it wasn't. Or should that be unluckily...
