10 Times WWE Treated Home Town Talent Like Garbage

4. MVP

Of all the entrants on the list, this is arguably the one where a talent was genuinely treated like trash - something to be disposed of quickly, with the minimum of fuss or acknowledgement.

At Survivor Series 2010 MVP found himself in the eponymous match up as part of Rey Mysterio's babyface team, going up against Alberto Del Rio's group of heels. Given that the PPV was set in MVP's home town of Florida, WWE could have opted to shine the spotlight on the homecoming hero. Instead, he was the first person eliminated in the match.

While it's easy to understand the logic behind MVP's elimination (getting heat on the heel team), his abrupt, anticlimactic exit sent the message that WWE saw him as just another body in the company. MVP obviously felt the same, and less than two weeks later he was granted his release.

Given the short amount of time between MVP's disappointing Surivor Series appearance and his handing in his notice, it's safe to say that he felt like a disposable commodity in the WWE. That they allowed his immediate departure shows he was right in that assumption.
