Most of Cody Rhodes' WWE career was spent in the role of a cocky, entitled heel who derived an excessive amount of pride from the fact that he had wrestling in his DNA, but long-suffering viewers will know that he started out as squeaky clean as they come.

In fact, the son of the American Dream was first introduced to our screens in 2007 when, during a backstage segment, he watched future Legacy leader Randy Orton slap his legendary father around the face, to which he responded by - well, looking a bit annoyed.

A short while later, Cody joined up with veteran Hardcore Holly to win the World Tag Team Championship, a title they would hold for six months before being challenged by Ted DiBiase, Jr. and a "mystery partner" at Night of Champions 2008.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, the future NJPW star was the mystery partner. The two second-generation stars with almost matching attire had joined forces, leaving a downed Holly dumbstruck in the ring. Like, who saw that one coming, right?
