Make no mistake: the moment that the music of Jeff and Matt Hardy began blaring out in the Citrus Bowl at last year's WrestleMania was one of the highlights of 2018. Nobody who calls themselves a wrestling fan could have disliked it.
But was it really all that shocking? Reports that the sibling duo would re-sign with WWE after finishing up their various indie commitments had been circulating for months - so much so that some fans began chanting their name before The New Day introduced them.
The fault here lies not so much with the company as it does fans themselves. We're constantly complaining about how predictable everything is, but that's only because we go out of our way to read spoilers on the internet.
That said, the very second it became clear Big E, Kofi and Woods weren't out there to compete themselves, you pretty much knew who would be taking their place. Any other outcome here and would have meant getting the crowd's hopes up for nothing.
