10 Times WWE Wasted Female Talent
4. Luna Vachon
Luna Vachon's story is one of unfulfilled potential and heartbreak. Her WWF career began with an appearance at WrestleMania IX where she acted as Shawn Michaels' valet. Vachon went on to feud with Sensational Sherri following the event before turning her attention to Alundra Blayze. It was against Blayze that she started to showcase the knowledge and skill that many underestimated at the time.
Their rivalry even spilled over to WCW before Luna returned to the WWF during the Attitude Era. Coming from a wrestling family, Vachon was hellbent on forging her own path and creating a completely unique persona for herself. Though initially successful, once the Attitude Era started to gain momentum, Luna became more of a gimmick character than a serious competitor.
The growing divide between talent and success began to infuriate Vachon and a bitter, behind the scenes feud with Sable only helped drive home the point that women's wrestling was moving in a different direction. Minor angles with the likes of Ivory followed, but Luna left the WWE in 2000 without ever winning the championship she craved.
Sadly, Luna developed a severe drug addiction and died of an overdose in 2010.
