10 Times WWE Were Obsessed With Strange Things

2. Lacey Evans

One of six NXT call-ups, Lacey Evans began her transition to the main roster in 2018, although you may not have realized it. Despite having good showings beforehand, 'The Lady of WWE' remained restricted to dark matches, primarily against Natalya, where she often found herself on the losing end.

During the 2019 Brand Shake-Up, fans started to get a better glimpse of Evans on both Raw and SmackDown. WWE appeared to be both obsessed with and confused by the performer, though, as all she did was interrupt segments and matches to perform a catwalk down the ramp. With a quick pivot, she then strutted back up the ramp and through the curtains.

The odd interruptions continued until the spring when Vince McMahon and his cronies finally decided to do something with her. With the ultimate goal of having her face Becky Lynch, it would have made more sense to show off Evans' in-ring skills and build up several more victories to make her a more credible threat to the championship.

Instead, McMahon said, "I dunno. She's here. Have her just take a lap or something, pal," and all the goofy randomness filler ensued. Luckily for Evans, creative later decided to hit the restart button after WrestleMania 35.
