Chris Jericho opened 26 January 2004 edition of Raw with the demand that then-Raw GM Eric Bischoff repay him a favour and give him a title shot against Triple H. However, after sly scheming from Bischoff, Jericho and Rob Van Dam, the final two Raw superstars in the previous evening’s Royal Rumble, were punished for their failure. They were booked into a three-on-two handicap match against Batista, Randy Orton, and Ric Flair. The match was a decent outing from the five supremely talented athletes, with each given adequate time and spots to showcase themselves.

With Flair taken out by a Five-Star Frog Splash and Batista trapped in the Walls of Jericho, it was up to Orton to make the save for Evolution. Racing towards Jericho from behind, Orton attempted to hit an RKO but overshot, fumbling for Jericho’s head, and bumping on his tailbone. To his credit, Orton recovered well, running the ropes, and hitting it successfully.

However, a “you f**ked up” chant forced Jerry Lawler on commentary to address Orton missing his first attempt, though Lawler acknowledged he “certainly didn’t miss the second one”, which won Evolution the match.
