10 Times WWE Wrestlers Botched Their Own Finishers
3. Goldberg & The Undertaker (Both)
Fans have come to set their expectations low when it comes to WWE’s Saudi supercards, which function solely as the needle for a sizable cash injection of Saudi riyals – think the financial equivalent of the ‘90s steroid controversy.
Coming into Super ShowDown 2019, The Undertaker faced the shame he left in Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel 2018. Despite sharing a ring with Kane, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels, Crown Jewel’s main event was a disaster. The pain of watching was only topped by the torn pectoral muscle that Triple H took as a souvenir. Undertaker didn’t find redemption against Goldberg.
Goldberg busted himself open during his entrance, headbutting a locker on his way out to the ring. This head injury was further exacerbated during the match. However, it was ‘Taker who blew his finisher first, dropping Goldberg on his head during a Tombstone Piledriver. This was well camouflaged during initial viewing. Goldberg’s Jackhammer attempt was a blatant blunder, with the WCW icon dropping ‘The Deadman’ on is head mid-move.
During The Last Ride documentary (Chapter Four), ‘Taker discussed the events of Super ShowDown as an impetus for his retirement.
