In canon, David Arquette was the WCW champion during the 'Ready to Rumble' hype, and WWE now owns all of WCW's assets, making him part of WWE history.

For several years, Arquette has actually been training as a wrestler and working his way up through the indy ranks. In January 2018, he was announced as a feature for a NWA event, which was met with immediate scorn from 'smart' fans, who were outraged that Arquette would besmirch the good name of their favourite thing to bitch about.

Arquette defended himself with a passionate online message: "I love all the hate I’m getting here. It baffles me that these people can love wrestling just like I do but I’m a joke in their eyes...8 months of training. Two surgeries, 3 broken ribs...wrestling is for the people and by the people...I may have grown up in Hollywood but I’m not some stuck up punk...I’m done apologizing. Now I just want to kick some ass so any of you bitches have a f***ing problem with me I’ll see you in Tennessee."

Arquette willingly giving up his affluent lifestyle to pursue wrestling gave his message credence and was met with substantial support from his peers.
