10 Times WWE Wrestlers Should Have Refused To Read The Script
7. Natalya And Tyson Kidd - R.I.P. Hornswoggle (SmackDown, 10th February 2012)
There are two ways to look at Natalya’s flatulence gimmick, either writers thought she was talented enough to get it over, like Rikishi’s Stink Face, or it was another rib on the Hart family. The promo in question was a backstage segment between real-life couple Natalya and Tyson Kidd.
Natalya discussed embarrassment with her partner, confessing “this has never happened to me before. I feel so out of control when I get nervous. I just can’t help it” - an obvious allusion to the flatulence gimmick. Natalya’s delivery was off as she, understandably, rushed through her lines.
Tyson interrupted to assure his partner that it was “perfectly natural”, before heaping on the humiliation “disgusting, but natural”. A bewildered Natalya revealed she was venting about talking too much when nervous, and asked him to elaborate. Fortunately for Tyson, Natalya farted, giving him reason to leave.
An embarrassed Natalya froze in panic as Hornswoggle passed. Greetings were brief before the little man blacked out. She blamed Tyson and fled whimpering. Though the segment was one minute long, it crammed in much humiliation for the talented wrestling couple.
