10 Times WWE's February PPV Was Better Than WrestleMania
4. In Your House 6 (1996)
The sixty-minute main event of WrestleMania XII still splits opinion amongst fans. Some feel it was a great display of endurance and wrestling skill, whereas others scratch their heads over the lack of pinfall and submissions decisions to help break up the action. Whatever camp certain fans fall into, it cannot be denied that 'Mania was a one match show in 1996. Pretty much all of the then-WWF's promotion fell into ensuring people were hyped for the Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels 'Iron Man' Match. Other matches on the show included a limp return for The Ultimate Warrior and a (admittedly decent) match between The Undertaker and Diesel. On February 18 of that year, however, the company didn't have a problem producing an excellent show. In fairness, only the top two bouts of In Your House 6 were special, but that's exactly one more than 'Mania counted. Firstly, Michaels faced Owen Hart in a tremendously-heated bout, before Bret Hart and Diesel clashed in a thunderous Steel Cage effort. There was no monotony in sight, meaning In Your House was very much worth the pay-per-view asking price (which was cheaper than 'Mania, too). Those two matches alone offered up much more excitement than all of WrestleMania XII could muster.
