10 Times WWE's February PPV Was Better Than WrestleMania

3. Elimination Chamber (2011)

Analysing today's WWE roster, it seems incredible that The Miz headlined a WrestleMania card just 5 short years ago. On that occasion ('Mania XXVII), he faced John Cena in what is largely considered a fairly lame main event. The Rock's involvement helped spice things up, but Miz felt like a bit part player in the ongoing drama between the two bigger star names. Elsewhere, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler sucked up valuable pay-per-view time in an unwanted match, and Randy Orton faced CM Punk in a mid card battle. It was only really The Undertaker's brawl with Triple H that had the juices flowing, which was a stark contrast to the bags of action on offer at Elimination Chamber on February 20, 2011. There, both Chamber bouts were exciting and action-packed. The likes of Drew McIntyre and R-Truth were allowed to show fire and self-belief like never before, which stood out as special. Adding to that, even the ageing Jerry Lawler looked fine in his WWE Title effort against The Miz. Skip WrestleMania XXVII and watch Elimination Chamber 2011 instead. It's a much better event.
