10 Times WWE's February PPV Was Better Than WrestleMania

5. Elimination Chamber (2013)

The night after WrestleMania XXVII, The Rock and John Cena agreed that they would wait a year before meeting at 'Mania XXVIII in 2012. The match was dubbed as a 'Once In A Lifetime' scenario, with WWE effectively promising that the head-to-head between both men would only happen one time. As fans know now, that wasn't exactly true. In 2013, Cena and The Rock would battle over the WWE Heavyweight Title in the main event of WrestleMania XXIX. Whilst their first bout wasn't as bad as some have claimed it to be, they were all out of ideas come the second attempt. There's no way WWE should have booked a rematch between the pair, certainly not at 'Mania of all places. The month before that second battle, The Rock defended his freshly-won WWF Title against CM Punk at Elimination Chamber on February 17, 2013. The Great One would win a terrific main event, joining matches such as The Shield vs. John Cena, Ryback and Sheamus, as well as the Elimination Chamber match itself in making the show a wholly worthwhile and entertaining one. At 'Mania, The Undertaker vs. CM Punk and Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar were respectable, but couldn't top what had happened the month before.
