In WWE, Spike Dudley's finish was renamed the 'Dudley Dog', and an entire generation of fans reared on ECW grit wondered why. It probably has something to do with drug connotations behind his finisher under Paul Heyman's watch. In the land of Extreme, Spike's big move was called the 'Acid Drop'.

Why? You know what's coming next, Simon Miller enthusiasts. Here's why.

The titchy wrestler's full name is Little Spike Dudley. Isolate the first letter of each word there and it spells out 'LSD', which is otherwise known as powerful hallucinogenic drug acid. Ding, ding, ding, there's your winner. The 'Acid Drop' was technically a drug reference, and that's presumably why WWE made the call to change it.

Others may point out that Spike dressed like some sort of cross between a 10-year old in dungarees and some mad scientist from Back To The Future's universe. He also originally wore acid-washed tie dye patterns under the denim. Trippy.
