10 TNA Matches You Totally Forgot (That WWE Should Now Book)

7. Matt Hardy Vs Jeff Hardy

Current legal murkiness prevents the #BROKEN universe from appearing either on original home base GFW or in Matt and Jeff Hardy's characterisations on Monday Night Raw, but even without a courtroom reconciliation, the twisted storyline that dominated Impact Wrestling (and mainstream conversation) in 2016 at long last proved that the two brothers could actually work against one another almost as well as they do together.

Though literal smoke, mirrors and the steady hand of some choice video editing aided their conflict, the mania of 'Final Deletion' was at least born out of a traditional wrestling angle featuring the squabbling siblings. An April 'I Quit' clash saw both brothers brutally beaten, leading to Matt returning with his brain apparently scrambled by the knocks.

His campaign of abuse against 'Brother Nero' ultimately led to their famous compound showdown, which in turn completely transformed the programme from its roots as a run-of-the-mill storyline into an other-worldly event horizon.

The success of 'Final Deletion' put both The Hardy Boyz and TNA back on the map, with the latter experiencing its first taste of mainstream attention in years. Matt and Jeff parlayed their newfound relevance into a WWE return at this year's WrestleMania, but seeds of discontent (or Broken Brilliance) have yet been sown under the brightest lights.

With brand new momentum in the wake of their enormous 2016 successes, Matt and Jeff could exorcise the demons of their woeful 2001 & 2009 rivalries, especially as they approach hitting the 20 year anniversary of their maiden WWE Tag Title win.
