10 TNA Superstars That Failed To Make An Impact In WWE
3. James Storm
While this next entry isn't so much a fail but rather a squandered opportunity, the fact remains that both James Storm and WWE seriously missed the boat when he stepped into NXT.
Having already spent over a decade building up a solid reputation in TNA, 'Cowboy' James Storm was a made man in Orlando by the time his contract expired in September 2015. A former World Champion, King of the Mountain Champion, World Cup Winner and 14 time NWA/TNA Tag Team Champion, it's fair to say that Storm had done it all. As such, the time was right for 'The Cowboy' to ride off into the sunset.
Luckily for Storm, the sun would rise in NXT just one month later, when the TNA stalwart made his shocking debut in Florida's other main wrestling company. The beer drinker would make short work of Britain's Danny Burch in his debut and appear once more a few weeks later, defeating Adam Rose in December.
After just two matches and less than five minutes of action, Storm ultimately decided to take the safe option and go back to TNA. 'The Bearded Outlaw' made his return to the Impact Zone in January and soon watched his partner, Bobby Roode, take his place in NXT.
