10 TNA Wrestlers Who Should Have Been World Champion (But Never Were)

2. Jay Lethal

Jay Lethal is one of the most patient men in the wrestling world, finally reaping the rewards for his many years of excellence with a Ring Of Honor World Championship reign. However, in TNA, despite proving himself a consistently brilliant in-ring worker (and one of the most charismatic men on the roster to boot), 'Black Machismo' was forever stuck in the X-Division.

He enjoyed six X-Division Championship reigns, but could never break through to the upper echelon of the roster in his own right, limited usually to the role of a good-natured helper to babyface champion Rob Van Dam.

Ironically, Lethal could now elevate his stock beyond that of TNA itself, should the promotion close its doors following ROH's move to Destination America. It would be sweet vindication for a man who has proven himself worthy of a World Championship reign time and time again.
