10 TNA Wrestlers Who Should Have Been World Champion (But Never Were)
1. Christopher Daniels
When AJ Styles finally won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in 2009, it was seen as a watershed moment for the promotion. Finally one of its original stars, a man who had helped build the company from the very beginning, was being given the credit he deserved - having long been ignored in favour of ex-WWE stars and washed up has-beens.
However, far less attention was paid to the neglect of 'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels, AJ's longterm rival (and occasional tag team partner) who had served TNA for just as long. Every bit as much a part of the promotion's history as Styles, Daniels was never afforded the same run as the figurehead of TNA, despite possessing a similarly ludicrous amount of talent - and a great deal more charisma than the fairly bland AJ.
The company attempted to placate Daniels with countless Tag Team Championship reigns and four X-Division titles, yet his patience finally seemed to wear thin in 2014. He jumped ship to ROH alongside old tag partner Kazarian, a move greeted with relief by many fans sick of his constant misuse. A man dubbed 'King of the Indies' deserved far better.
